Thank you for all your telephone and email enquiries. I have put together a selection of frequently asked questions which i hope will be useful. I have spilt them into equine and canine sections. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.

How much is treatment for a horse?
Treatment starts at £40 for a horse (under 10 miles away from Redditch or Shrewley). Travel costs may apply depending on the location of your horse, I always aim to make treatment as affordable as possible. A discounted rate (£38 subject to travel expenses) is available for four or more horses treated at one yard.

How long does a horse treatment take?
For an intial consultation and treatment I ask owners to allow 1 hour - 1 hr 30 mins. This is a rough guide and will vary greatly on any problems found. When a problem is occuring on the lunge or under saddle I may also ask to see the horse ridden/lunged. A follow-up/routine treatment is likely to take around 1 hour, again depending on what is found.

Will my horse need time off after treatment?
Normally at least one full day off work is required after treatment followed by a gradual increase to normal work over several days. When you make an appointment let me know of any competitions you have coming up and we can arrange treatment around this.

I offer 'tuning up' treatments prior to, and post competition, to help ensure peak performance.

Does my horse/dog need to see a vet before it can be treated?
Veterinary permission is required by law for anyone to treat your horse or dog.
A vet will not normally need to see your animal before treatment, but you must contact your vet to ensure they are happy for the animal to recieve McTimoney and massage treatment. In the case of a traumatic incident resulting in lameness you should always seek veterinary advice to rule out a serious injury. I will refer you back to your vet if I am at all concerned there may be an underlying cause of back pain.

How much is a treatment for a dog and how long does it take?
Dog treatments start at £30, travel costs may apply depending on the location of your dog. A discounted rate (£28 subject to travel expenses) is available for three or more dogs treated at one location. As a rough guide you should allow 1 hour - 1hr 15 mins for an initial treatment and around 45 mins - 1 hour for a follow-up.

Do you come and visit my dog at my home or do I travel to you?
Nearly all treatments are carried out in your own home, this helps keep the dog relaxed and settled and avoids the need to transport the dog in the car after the treatment. I am able to meet owners at convenient locations, or they can bring dogs to my yard for a walk and treatment at a discounted rate of £25.
